  • RenĂ© Laloux's Fantastic Planet is a sci-fi freakout that feels like somebody synched an obscure Pink Floyd album with one of those Monty Python cutout animations. The plot is that a bunch of giant blue aliens named Traags have been keeping human Oms as pets, but the tables get turned when the humans learn how to read. I realize that may sound stupid, but let me assure you that it is actually very stupid. This one may be exclusively for the black light poster-owning, hydroponic-enthusiast crowd, but I made the mistake of watching it with a completely unaltered mind.
