- Directed by Jun Fukuda, Ironfinger is a lazy and mostly unfunny parody of spy films from the early James Bond era. The story follows a crafty INTERPOL agent (Akira Takarada), a bikini-clad bomb expert (Mie Hama), and a mustachioed police detective (IchirÅ Arishima) as they battle criminal cartels engaged in an arms race. Acid is thrown, vehicles explode, and a man is knocked out with a toilet plunger, but the laughs never really materialize. Gold is nearly a million times more valuable than iron, and this film proves it.
