  • DIRECTOR: Michael Winner
  • ACTORS: Charles Bronson, Jan-Michael Vincent, Keenan Wynn, Jill Ireland, Frank de Kova
  • PLOT: An aging hitman takes on a protégé who may be a little too interested in the business.
  • EVALUATION: While nobody would mistake this for a great film, it is a surprisingly engaging thriller arranged around several very memorable assassinations.
  • WRITING: For better or worse, well-matched to Bronson's style of acting, even if the plot doesn't make a ton of sense.
  • FILMING: Occasionally inspired, as in the film's dialogue-free first 15 minutes or the outstanding scenery, the highlight of which is Bronson's amazing bachelor pad.
  • BEST PART: When the audience discovers that a contrived love scene is exactly that.
  • TRIVIA: Apparently Bronson disliked Vincent because he sneezed a lot, which would admittedly be a liability for an actual hitman.
  • STINGER: Vincent rings doorbell and says "Chicken Lickin'"
