  • Well, I've officially tried -- and failed -- to fall in love with famous French director/actor Jacques Tati. Although M. Hulot's Holiday had its moments, his final film, Trafic, basically only has two funny gags. One is that everyone sitting in traffic begins to pick their nose. Juvenile, yes, but absolutely funny. The other joke is that the latest car, designed by Hulot (Tati) himself, has more bells and whistles than anybody would ever want. We're talking a fold-out tent, a coffee maker, a horn that doubles as an electric razor, and a front grill that actually grills meat. Who knows what Tati would have made of electric seat warmers. Regardless, the rest of the film felt like sitting in traffic, which it sometimes was.
