- What Did Jack Do? is a narratively straightforward romantic comedy...and, of course, I'm kidding. This is a David Lynch short film, so it's actually about a talking monkey named Jack whose love for chickens may have driven him to murder. Lynch plays both the detective and the voice of Jack, doing what sounds like an impression of Slim Pickens. I've seen several David Lynch short films, and I can confidently claim that this is the most enjoyable one. I laughed for most of its 17-minute runtime and didn't have a single nightmare afterward.
